Oilers Third Jerseys
The Edmonton Oilers new third jersey will pay homage to the 1980s Stanley Cup era of Wayne Gretzky, reports Howard Berger, a reporter with the Fan 590 sports radio station in Toronto. Berger reports he has seen photographs of all 15 new third jerseys for NHL teams, including the Oilers sweater. The new Oilers jersey will replace the third jersey, designed by Spawn originator Todd McFarlane, which came out in 2001. "The Oilers are going back to their glory days with the predominantly blue jersey Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier et al. wore on the road while winning five Stanley Cup titles between 1984 and 1990," he reports on Hockeybuzz.com.
