Rangers sign RFA forward Sjostrom

New York Rangers have agreed to terms with restricted free agent forward Fredrik Sjostrom.The 25-year-old played in 69 games with the Phoenix Coyotes and Rangers in 2007-08, recording 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points, along with 22 penalty minutes.The 6-1, 217-pound forward has appeared in 279 career NHL games with the Phoenix Coyotes and Rangers, recording 34 goals and 41 assists for 75 points, along with 134 penalty minutes.The Fargelanda, Sweden native was originally drafted by Phoenix 11th overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. On February 26, he was acquired by the Rangers, along with David LeNeveu, Josh Gratton and a fifth round choice in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, in exchange for Al Montoya and Marcel Hossa.
